<p>President Rodrigo Duterte during his visit in Quezon City Wednesday, criticized the mainstream media for being dishonest and asking non sense questions to him.</p>
<p><em>“Kaya wag kayong masyadong mag[papaniwala]… ayang media media [wag kayong] maniwala dyan” </em>President Duterte said during his speech.</p>
<p>He also mentioned U.S President Donald Trump views on mainstream media for allegedly being ‘dishonest’ with their reports.</p>

<p>Duterte gave an example how media almost destroyed his image during the presidential campaign period last year and singled out a big news company for believing in garbage that the President is hiding P211-M pesos in his bank account.</p>
<p>He also believes that the media was being intended to destroy his image.</p>

<p>“<em>Parang talagang sinasadya, pati ngayon iniiba nila… tignan niyo nakikinig kayo.. gaganon yan[lilihis],” </em>President Duterte said.</p>
<p>The President also became frank to the Malacañang Press Corps who sometimes asking unimportant questions to him.</p>
<p>“Biro mo galing akong Laos.. it was a long haul.. pagdating ko doon sa presscon.. ang tinanong sakin is stupid na media..na ikaw ba ay may  ano na decision na hindi ka magmura..”  Duterte said.</p>
<p>He expressed his annoyance to the media who didn’t asked more important questions that related in his foreign trip.</p>
<p>“T— i–..kabiyahe biyahe ko yun ang tatanungin mo sakin?.. di ka magtanong kung anong nangyari sa laos.. anong development,” President Duterte said in anger.</p>
<p>Duterte also mentioned Francis “Kit” Tatad who spread rumors that he went to China for cancer threatment.</p>
<p>“Tignan mo si Tatad mauna pang mamatay sakin..” President Duterte said in jest.</p>
<p>In his anger of the rumors that Tatad spread, he admitted that he went to China to be circumcised again.</p>

Most of the Roman Catholic Churches nationwide read an official statement of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) which was lambasted later by veteran columnist Jojo Robles who wrote an Open Letter to Archbishop Socrates Villegas.<br />

Netizens were quick to react on the released statement of the CBCP against the controversial EJK issue which was read by its member churches nationwide. Some netizens were disappointed with the statement of the CBCP who literally attack Pres. Duterte's war on drugs.<br />

According to the Manila Standard columnist Jojo Robles, the statement of CBCP is a clear evidence of what will happen when the chief bishop is a diehard political partisan. He will not hesitate to use his pulpit and the pulpits of all the other churches to further his totally secular agenda.<br />

Robles accused CBCP President Archbishop Socrates Villegas of imposing his will on all of them and even asked if all the bishops simply allowed their president to use the pulpit of the Catholic Church to air his side on EJK.<br />

 SOC: This is what happens when the chief bishop is a diehard political 
partisan: He will not hesitate to use his pulpit (and the pulpits of all
 the other churches in the land) to further his totally secular agenda.</i><br />

 I don't know for sure if the bishops simply allowed you, their 
president, Archbishop Socrates Villegas, to just impose your will on all
 of them. I only know that if you, who have never been ashamed of 
declaring your Yellow allegiance, wanted the CBCP statement to have 
maximum impact, you would have stepped aside from your position of 
leadership first. You certainly did not have to write the pastoral 
letter. </i><br />
<br />
<i> But you did not step aside. And yes, you wrote the letter read in churches all over.</i><br />
<i>
 I guess the notion that you could, as chief of the bishops, get back 
finally at a president you never liked using all pulpits nationwide was 
just too great a temptation for even you to resist. And so, Archbishop, 
you gave in.</i><br />
<br />
<i> And in one blow, you angered the members of the 
Catholic flock who didn't want their churches used for partisan 
politicking. You left the clergy "on the ground" to deal with the 
problem of mass disaffection with a church that you wanted to drag into 
an epic confrontation, not just with civil authority, but with the great
 mass of Catholics themselves.</i><br />
<br />
<i> Was it worth it, Soc? </i><br />
<br />
<i> You 
certainly gave it to Caesar. And you must be so proud of yourself. It 
must have made you think that your mentor, Jaime Cardinal Sin, is 
smiling down on you, with Cory on his side.</i><br />
<i> But as for giving to God what is rightfully his, only you can discern that.</i><br />

 PS: Don't ask ordinary church-goers like me anymore if we think you did
 the right thing today. If you don't already know by now, then your

<i>Beloved People of God</i><br />
<br />

</i><i>We, your bishops, are deeply concerned due to many deaths and 
killings in the campaign against prohibited drugs. This traffic in 
illegal drugs needs to be stopped and overcome. But the solution does 
not lie in the killing of suspected drug users and pushers. We are 
concerned not only for those who have been killed. The situation of the 
families of those killed is also cause for concern. Their lives have 
only become worse. An Additional cause of concern is the reign of terror
 in many places of the poor. Many are killed not because of drugs. Those
 who kill them are not brought to account. An even greater cause of 
concern is the indifference of many to this kind of wrong. It is 
considered as normal, and, even worse, something that (according to 
them) needs to be done.</i><br />
<i>
</i><i>We are one with many of our countrymen who want change. But change must be guided by truth and justice.</i><br />
<br />
<i>
</i><i>We stand for some basic teachings. These teachings are rooted in our being human, our being Filipino, and our being Christian.</i><br />
<i>
</i>
<ol>
<li><i>The life of every person comes from God. It is he who gives it, and 
it is he alone who can take it back. Not even the government has a right
 to kill life because it is only God’s steward and not the owner of 
life.</i></li>
<li><i>The opportunity to change is never lost in every person. This is 
because God is merciful, as our Holy Father Pope Francis repeatedly 
teaches. We just finished celebrating the Jubilee Year of Mercy, and the
 World Apostolic Congress on Mercy. These events deepened our awareness 
that the Lord Jesus Christ offered his own life for sinners, to redeem 
them and give them a new future.</i></li>
<li><i>To destroy one’s own life and the life of another, is a grave sin 
and does evil to society. The use of drugs is a sign that a person no 
longer values his own life, and endangers the lives of others. We must 
all work together to solve the drug problem and work for the 
rehabilitation of drug addicts.</i></li>
<li><i>Every person has a right to be presumed innocent until proven 
guilty. Society has ways and processes to catch, prove guilty and punish
 perpetrators of crimes. This process must be followed, especially by 
agents of the law.</i></li>
<li><i>Any action that harms another (seriously) is a grave sin. To push 
drugs is a grave sin as is killing (except in self-defense). We cannot 
correct a wrong by doing another wrong. A good purpose is not a 
justification for using evil means. It is good to remove the drug 
problem, but to kill in order to achieve this is also wrong.</i></li>
<li><i>The deep root of the drug problem and criminality is the poverty of 
the majority, the destruction of the family and corruption in society. 
The step we have to take is to overcome poverty, especially through the 
giving of permanent work and sufficient wages to workers. Let us 
strengthen and carry forward the unity and love of the family members. 
Let us not allow any law that destroys the unity of families. We must 
also give priority to reforming rogue policemen and corrupt judges. The 
excessively slow adjudication of court cases is one big reason for the 
spread of criminality. Often it is the poor who suffer from this system.
 We also call upon elected politicians to serve the common good of the 
people and not their own interests.</i></li>
<li><i>To consent and to keep silent in front of evil is to be an 
accomplice to it. If we neglect the drug addicts and pushers we have 
become part of the drug problem. If we consent or allow the killing of 
suspected drug addicts, we shall also be responsible for their deaths.</i></li>
</ol>
<i>
</i><i>We in the Church will continue to speak against evil even as we 
acknowledge and repent of our own shortcomings. We will do this even if 
it will bring persecution upon us because we are all brothers and 
sisters responsible for each other. We will help drug addicts so that 
they may be healed and start a new life. We will stand in solidarity and
 care for those left behind by those who have been killed and for the 
victims of drug addicts. Let us renew our efforts to strengthen 
families.</i><br />
<br />
<i>
</i><i>Those of us who are leaders in the Church should strive to push 
forward or continue programs that will uplift the poor, like livelihood,
 education and health programs. Above all we will live up to — we all 
will live up to — becoming a Church of the Poor.</i><br />
<br />
<i>
</i><i>Let us not allow fear to reign and keep us silent. Let us put into 
practice not only our native inner strength but the strength that comes 
from our Christian faith. Our Lord Jesus promised us: “You will have 
affliction in this world, but take courage, I have overcome the world” 
(Jn. 16:33).</i><br />

</i><i>“What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or 
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the

Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon said the suspect may face charges of economics sabotage.</div>

Faeldon said agricultural smuggling, especially rice worth P1 million, would cause BOC to file economic sabotage as provided under Republic Act 10845.</div>

<p>The first fatality of the HTI Factory Fire in General Trias City, Cavite was announced by Governor Boying Remulla.</p>
<p>The man was identified as Jerome Sismaet, 37 years old from Maragondon Cavite, a line leader at the House Technologies Industries (HTI) factory.</p>

Let us all pray for the repose of his soul and for his loved ones. Nakikiramay po ako at ang Lalawigan ng Cavite.” </em>Governor Boying Remulla wrote on his Facebook post.</p>
<p>He was considered as “Hero” by many Caviteños because he tried to save all his team mates first before leaving the burning factory, but unfortunately the fire reached him that made him suffered severe burn injuries.</p>
<p>Director General of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Charito Plaza described Sismaet as a hero for staying behind to let his subordinates leave the burning factory first.</p>

<p>It seems that President Rodrigo Duterte would not forgive the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and New People’s Army (NPA) for allegedly killing soldiers while the ceasefire agreement of the government was still effective.</p>
<p>The President asked the CPP-NPA leaders to return to the country and surrender after the government decided to end the peace talks between the Communists and Philippines.</p>
<p><em>“Yung na-release temporarily to talk with us in Oslo, they should come back and submit themselves to the jurisdiction of this government, they are still prisoners. Walang pardon, walang amnesty, wala lahat,” </em>President Rodrigo Duterte said in an interview with the press during his visit in his mother’s grave in Davao City.</p>

<p><em>“Come home because you’re wanted and upon your arrival I will arrest you and place you back in prison. If you don’t want to go back, you’re fugitives. I will cancel your passports and I will inform the international police for an international warrant”</em> President Duterte said.</p>
<p><strong>CPP-NPA is now a “terrorist group”</strong></p>
<p>President Rodrigo Duterte also considered the CPP-NPA as terrorist group for killing his soldiers that made him embarrassed.</p>
<p>“Nagmamagandang loob ka na nga, napapahiya pa ako sa sagot ng pu—- Akala mo kung sino” Duterte said.”You give them all the leeway and you return to me a stupid… From now on, I will consider the CPP-NPA-NDF a terrorist group.”</p>
<p>CPP-NPA ended their ceasefire agreement with the government after President Rodrigo Duterte failed to release the 400 political prisoners that they asked to release.</p>
<p>The Government, in response of the killings of their soldiers in the alleged recent NPA attacks also ended the ceasefire and ordered the arrest of the freed political prisoners who traveled abroad using the money of the government.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>One of the soldiers killed sustained 76 wounds that angered the President.</p>
