A woman in Cagayan de Oro City was caught on camera burning a dog using a blowtorch.
In a Facebook video posted by a page under the name Pepeng Hugotero, a woman was seen using a blowtorch to burn a hog-tied dog.
"Isang babae nanunog ng aso sa Cagayan De Oro City. Please share this video para mabigyan ng hustisya 'yung aso," the caption of the video read.
The video, which lasted for a little over a minute, showed that the dog stopped moving after several attempts to free itself.
The woman, who was buring it, was also shown smiling as she torched the dog.
GMA News has contacted the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) regarding the matter, but they were not available for immediate comment.
The Animal Welfare Act says those who will be found guilty of animal cruelty may face imprisonment of six months to as much as two years, and/or fines of P1,000 to P5,000.
