Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson commended the “coincidence” happened when Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa ordered the halt of war against illegal drugs on Monday,

In his tweet, Senator Lacson wondered why no vigilante killings happened when the PNP dismantled its all anti-illegal drugs group.

“After the CPNP ordered a halt to all anti-drugs operations by the police, no vigilante killing occurred overnight. Commendable coincidence.” Senator Ping Lacson said in his post.

The former PNP head also said that the PNP must clarify the decline of the killings when the War On Drugs was halted.

“Kailangan ipaliwanag ng PNP bakit ganoon… And the irony of it all, magpapaliwanag sila dahil walang namatay? Whereas before, nang active ang Tokhang and active ang PNP sa anti-drugs operation, we’re averaging 10 to 11 a day or overnight,” Lacson said during an interview with the reporters

In the past, Opposition of Duterte administration and Human Rights groups released statements that they believed that the War On Drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte is the reason why the alleged vigilante killings rose.

Bato said that there still more killings happened even after the drug war.

Data shows that there were four drug suspects killed in police operations after he ordered the suspension of War On Drugs.

PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa said that the sudden decline of the killings during the halt of War On Drugs doesn’t mean the cops was the real involved in alleged vigilante killings.

He explained that the vigilantes may knew that they will got exposed if they continue the killings despite of the half of drug war.

Bato said that the vigilantes will easily be caught if they still continue their crime.

“Ibig sabihin, nag-stop na mga vigilantes sa kanilang gawain dahil kapag ngayon tuloy tuloy sila sa ginagawa nila, pumapatay sila wherein nag-declare na ako na stop our anti-drugs operations, mayroon pa ring namamatay na gano’n, eh ‘di madali na silang habulin at ma-identify kasi sino pang gumagawa niyan.”

PNP data also shows that four was killed in police operations
