President Rody Duterte indeed cared for the poor and the needy as students and residents of two Barangays in Bukidnon were grateful for the President's Hanging Bridge project which makes it easier for them to travel and for students to go to school in Cagayan de Oro.

Most of the students from Barangay Lingating in Baungon, Bukidnon will no longer have to use a makeshift bamboo raft to cross a river or climb a steep cliff and trek at least a kilometer to go to school in Barangay Bayanga in Cagayan de Oro.

The hanging bridge in Bukidno was made available to the general public after it was formally opened last December 23, 2016. Officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ordered ordered the construction of the hanging bridge after the plight of the students were reported on national TV.

For the past few administrations, the bridge project was neglected and nobody bothers to check the real situation on the ground but during the time of Pres. Rody Duterte, netizens participated by sharing some neglects of the national government on social media.

With the construction of the Hanging Bridge in Bukidnon, principals from both schools are expecting for an increase in student enrollment from Barangay Lingating in Baungon town all thanks to DPWH Sec. Mark Villar and Pres. Rody Duterte.
