It seems that De La Salle University Professor and Political Scientist Antonio Contreras was not convinced with the explanation of Vice President Leni Robredo why she can’t cancel her family vacation on United States.
The Vice President yesterday explained that she can’t go back in the Philippines when the Typhoon hit her bailiwick because of the unavailability of the airline tickets during that time. She also said that can’t leave her family in United States who enjoying their vacation during that time.
Mr. Contreras slammed the Vice President on his Facebook post and accused Robredo of lying to the Filipino people.
He questioned the reason of the Vice President and he believed that her family can spend their vacation in America without her.
“Ginagawa tayong ta*nga. Kadaling bumili ng tiket pauwi kung gusto. At hindi naman kailangan sabay-sabay. Malaki na ang panganay na anak. Nagtatrabaho na. Pwede naman nauna na siya.” Mr. Contreras wrote.
The Professor also said that everyone knew that the Typhoon Nina would hit the Philippines even before Robredo was still in the Philippines, a sufficient reason which Contreras believes to cancel her flight and her vacation.
“lechugas. Sad-face pa ang drama na nakalulungkot daw na andun siya at andito ang bagyo. December 22 pa lang alam na ang bagyo ay tatama ng kalupaan. At December 23 ay kumpirmadong sa Bicol maglalandfall. Mali ang timing? Nalungkot dahil andun siya at andito ang bagyo. E bakit umalis pa nung December 23?” Mr. Contreras added.
He also claimed that many Bicolanos who supported Robredo are now disappointed of what the Vice President did.
“Leni Robredo I have bad news for you. Maraming mga Bikolano, kahit suportado ka dati, galit na galit” Contreras wrote before he ended his post.
Netizens were expressed their disappointment after Leni Robredo still decided to pursue her US Vacation despite of the early weather forecast that Typhoon Nina would surely hit the Bicol Region and other provinces in the Philippines.
During Christmas, the Typhoon Nina destroyed the homes and livelihood of many Filipinos especially in Bicol Region where the Vice President lives.
