Weather disturbances have caused flash floods in various areas of Cagayan de Oro City on Monday, forcing around 5,000 people to evacuate from their homes.

According to CNN Philippines, the local government has declared a state of calamity due to the massive flooding in different areas of the city.

Aside from the flooding, there have also been reports of landslides and fallen trees and structures in several locations.

The Facebook page called About Cagayan de Oro – Acadeo has posted a video and several photos of the disaster, showing stranded citizens and several vehicles partially submerged in flood water.

As of this writing, there have been no reports of casualties and injuries in the city. Rappler reports that the heavy rain was caused by a low pressure area and a cold front.
